He, his wife Sarah, and his two children live in Lansing Michigan. Tim has been servicing pianos since 2017 and teaching privately for the past 12 years. He Studied piano technology with Rick Butler at the Butler school of Piano Technology, and studied with mentors John Krauss, Brian Taylor and TS. In the spring of 2022 Tim joined the piano technician team at Reeder pianos. He is one of four technicians in the shops busy action department. Tim specifically works on rebuilds that come through the shop, with the occasional recondition or regulating job. Tim also holds a BM in music composition from the University of Kansas and his MM in music composition from Michigan State University. After his studies, while remaining an active composer, Tim began focusing on tuning pianos, and teaching piano. His passion for improving others, their instruments, and himself as a modern musician is his driving force. After a piano is serviced, the greatest joy is knowing someone can now enjoy their piano to its fullest ability. When Tim is not working on a piano, he enjoys collaborating with musicians and groups across mid-Michigan. He has played with local groups – notably Limerick, Wisaal, Matt Bliton Band, and Donny Brown.
